Student Of The Month, Richard Lu

Some of us have toyed with the idea of writing a book, in primary school or even now! A seventh grade student, Richard Lu, has actually went through with his plans and written a book called Peli-can Invest. Peli-can Invest is about different types of investments. Richard has found a way to combine his hobbies— investment and writing, and make a book, which was thankfully published by Arch White Publishing.
What is Peli-can invest’s main idea?
The main idea is to teach kids and people how to use their money in stocks and bonds and to invest to get the greatest percentage of return. They also start making money for themselves and start to be independent.
Who was your publisher?
Arch white publishing, we had the honor of meeting someone who respected the idea.
How long was the process?
About a year. It would take hard, long nights, and about four days of the whole week to write the book, but the overall process took a year.
What advice do you have for other possible authors?
If you come up with a idea, keep writing and don’t check until you finish, just get all the ideas out and you can edit later.
Do you have plans for writing more books?
I’m in a process of writing a novel, and I’ve toyed with the idea of a sequel to Peli-Can Invest, but right now, I’m going to focus on the novel.
How did you get the idea?
Couple of years ago, my dad would encourage me to start an investment club for us, only the two of us, and we would seek an individual business, usually successful, and research it, and then evaluate the factors of the investments and the reasons why the business is flourishing.
What kind of research/ measures were taken to make this book?
We came up with ideas about all kinds of investments, such as bonds, stocks, and neutral funds, and started writing them out as individual chapters.
Do you like writing? Why did you choose to write a book instead of anything else?
I’ve always wanted to write a book and I’ve loved writing for a long time. I wanted to make my writing public to sharpen my skills and get a good experiences.
