Every day from Monday through Thursday for about one hour there is track and field. Track and field isn’t just one sport. It made up of two different categories, Track and Field. For the track part some events or activities that people do is 100 meter, hurdles, a mile, 400 meter, and relay. Then for the field part the people also do high jump, long jump, discus, and shot put. We interviewed Mr.Steffens on why he liked track and field, and he said that he liked to watch the kids participate, and have fun. Track and field is a good sport, because no one can get cut from the sport. No one needs to do every event, and there are so many events to participate in. When we went outside to watch the actual practice, all the kids seemed to be laughing and enjoying their time. There are many kids in the team, and every single one if then try hard on everything. They have a meet around once or twice a week. Track and Field is an amazing sport to watch and play.
Many people do band or orchestra. They are very popular and many people enjoy it. And some of those talented musicians are right here in our school. When you read this article, whether you are sitting in a noisy cafeteria or in a classroom where you are supposedly “paying attention”, take a glance around you. Get a good look. What if I told you more than fifty percent of the world played a musical instrument? Did you see it? Look again. See that person tapping their feet on the floor? Maybe they play percussion. What about that person fidgeting with their fingers? Perhaps they play piano. I’m pretty sure that you have heard of orchestra and band even if you have been in this school for only a few days. It’s pretty popular but there are some things even we, people of orchestra and band, have learned from asking the teachers/conductors of orchestra and band. These 2 teams of instruments are both a part of the fine arts one with percussion and wind instruments and the other purely strings. The band instruments sections consists of many different unique instruments.
We interviewed many students and both directors. Many students, such as Ella G. and Pranav H., play percussion. Others, like Abby M., play woodwind instruments. Then there are those students that played stringed instruments. Those are all the instruments in our orchestra, along with the piano. Seven of the students we asked informed us of playing a stringed instrument, and five of them are currently in the orchestra. Everyone we interviewed were inspired by many different reasons. Margaret, Erin, Killian, and Rahul all mentioned that their friends and/or family inspired them to join. Many students take lessons outside of school, while others don’t. We also asked how the students felt about their conductors. All of the students believe the directors are kind and caring. One refers to Ms. Buffa as “bubbly”, or cheerful, and “compassionate”, while another refers to Mr. Owens as “lighthearted” and “humorous”. One states,
“How Mr. Owens can get 60 kids to make beautiful music is astonishing to me. Mr. Owens is great because he is super funny and nice. He is also a good conductor because he doesn’t pick favorites and also doesn’t care if you know everything anyone could ever know about music. Mr. Owens is also very nice if you make a mistake. He does an amazing job making sure that there is an amazing learning environment. This is awesome because then you can feel comfortable if you make a mistake because no one will blame you.”
We also asked the teachers questions about their experiences. Both of them love to work with their students and to work with music (obviously). They believe that students from all grade levels can join band or orchestra, whether it’s pre school and nobody has started playing an instrument yet, or 10th grade where many people have already started or mastered playing an instrument. Before Mr. Owens leaves he wants to give one more piece of advice to his students and anyone who would like to join band,
“Practice makes all the difference and progress is sometimes slower than we want so go home and practice some more.” Many students have become close to Mr. Owens and will be sad to see him go. Mr. Owens, if you are reading this, know that you will be missed and that you have made a great impact in the lives of many future musicians.

So let’s talk about Fusion. It happens almost everywhere. In the core of the sun, and between black holes. It takes black holes with immense power and energy to shake the universe with gravitational waves. As stated from Vox.com “Star S2 is around 15 times as massive as our sun. That’s big. But it’s nothing compared with the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way, Sagittarius A, which is estimated to be some 4 million times more massive than our sun. The gravity it produces whips S2’s orbit to around 11 million miles per hour, which is about 200 times the speed the Earth orbits around the sun. S2 completes one orbit around the galaxy in around 16 Earth years. Recently, astronomers witnessed S2 passing by Sagittarius A* at a speed greater than its usual 15.5 million miles per hour. That’s more than 4,300 miles every second, or nearly 3 percent of the speed of light. This proved a good opportunity for scientists to test Einstein’s theory of gravity that claimed that light will stretch (red shift) when close to areas of high gravity, and it did!
Science has also found the effects of two black holes colliding. Yes, such an event is possible. Two colliding black holes send ripples through the space-time fabric of the Universe in the form of gravitational waves. It is possible for two black holes to collide. Once they come so close that they cannot escape each other’s gravity, they will merge to become one bigger black hole. Such an event would be extremely violent. Even when simulating this event on powerful computers, we cannot fully understand it. However, we do know that a black hole merger would produce tremendous energy and send massive ripples through the space-time fabric of the Universe. Nobody has witnessed a collision of black holes yet. However, there are many black holes in the Universe and it is not impossible to assume that they might collide. In fact, we know of galaxies in which two supermassive black holes move dangerously close to each other. By the way, there was a new image posted by NASA of as real life black hole, not one of those cool looking fake clip art pictures that you find out on the internet, here is a real black hole image posted by NASA next to a deblurred image yet the deblurring does nothing.This is obviously not a perfectly accurate result, it is an approximation, but it seems to be a pretty good approximation. In fact, you can even see what appears to be gravitational lensing happening at the edges a lot more clearly now. Ignore the green boundary on the outer edges, that is simply banding being interpreted as light by the algo. The doughnut-shaped ring is ever clearer and the portions facing us, even brighter. Basically it is in line with Einstein’s Theory of general relativity (determined that the laws of physics are the same for all non-accelerating observers).
The next morning during breakfast, Selena gloomily ate dinner pondering over the events last night. What had it meant? Free who? She had so many questions but no answers.
At one point Phoebe came up to her and asked if she was alright and Selena replied that she was just tired. She didn’t want to share what had happened. Not now. There was no need to burden the team with knowledge of another enemy, not while they had to go fight this one.
Soon after, the team packed up all their stuff and got ready for the road trip ahead. They debated if they would reach the Canyon by walking or by vehicle for a while, but George eventually ended it, saying that they had to walk because they didn’t know when or if they might come back. That way, there would be no need to return a vehicle once they had defeated the beast or were destroyed by it.
Keeping this thought in mind, the team started journey. They knew it would be a couple hours of walking with rest in between. They had planned to stop every hour to recharge their strength. Surprisingly, nothing had attacked them for the first hour. During their rest, they simply lay in the soft sand and took measured sips from their thermos. It went on like this until sundown, when they had reached the destination of the monster. The desolate wasteland beheld nothing except a gaping hole in the ground that ends with a trickle of water at the very bottom. The air was filled with forethought of giving up and leaving.
As they were resting on the ground George addressed them, “ If we wish to have the strength to face this horrendous beast, we must rest here tonight and continue our journey in the morning. But beware, we are in unfamiliar territory now, we must make sure that we are constantly alert. I’ll set up a wall around us so it will be harder to get to us. Connor, Martha, you two set up a fire ring around us. Jackson, have some water stored up. We will have one person keeping guard at all times. It will be one hour shifts, but I’ll take two shifts. If you see anything, wake everyone up. Always keep your weapons at hand if you want to live. But, for now, get some rest.”
They set up their gear for the night by putting up tents, picking tent mates and laying out sleeping bags. They finished with all the preparations while George took first watch. The rest of them slipped into their tents and lay down to talk for a bit, then to get rest. Throughout the night, they woke each other up to get ready for their shifts as a guard. Near the end of Luke’s watch, a rogue skeleton reached the outside of their shell, searching for a way in. He quickly slashed it into pieces without trying to wake anyone up. But before he could reach down to pick up the destroyed skeleton, it burst into flames and quickly disintegrated into ashes. He looked around to see Connor standing outside of his tent, watching Luke.
Luke walked over and said hello, “ I still have a few more minutes left in my shift and then it’ll be your turn.”
“I know,” Connor replied, but I woke up when I heard your sword crush that skeleton.”
“Thanks for helping me make sure it was gone.”
“No problem. Don’t worry ’bout it.”
They sat around a table while talking in quiet tones for a while. During the conversation, the question they had all been trying to ignore was roused up.
“Do you think we’ll make it out alive?” Connor asked, “ You know… from the beast.”
Luke pondered the question for a while, and took a breath before he answered, “ I don’t know what will happen in there. But if we work together, we stand a chance to overthrow the savage. The angel has to have sent us on a quest that was at least possible.”
They continued in silence until Luke said he was going to hit the sack. The rest of the night was silent without anything to bother them.
The team woke to a blazing sun and they produced lively chatter and a hearty breakfast. They needed to have full stomachs if they were going to fight a brute. After they were all finished with their meals, they remembered the task at hand, and they fell into a gloomy trance. They set out down the canyon, some fearfully, and some bravely.
